Jelly Fish Lake, Palau, Micronesia

One thing in life that you should add to your bucket list, is the amazing place that is the Rock Islands and Jelly Fish Lake of Palau in Micronesia.  I visited here in Easter 2013 on a Scuba Diving Journey, it is quite simply one of those places that is “Out of this World”.  More posts will be coming soon on this amazing place, but first here is some from Jelly Fish Lake.

What makes Jelly Fish Lake unique is the Jelly Fish have been so protected in their lake, that they have no predators.  Thus they have lost their stingers, enabling you to safely swim with the jelly fish, some times so thick that you forget your in water!  After about a 30 min boat ride from the mainland you arrive at a little pier, then a little walk up and over a little hill puts you right in front of the lake.  Scuba Diving is not allowed on the lake but you don’t need it as the Jelly Fish swim at the surface, to get the sunlight.

Such is the peaceful life of the Jelly Fish, they simply float with the small current on the lake from one end to the other each day, un perturbed by the swimmers, so excited to be in the water with them!

I visited with Sam’s Tours, one of the largest and most professional tour operators on Palau.  A very highly recommended time of your life experience!
